ebm-papst 8400 N Series DC Axial Fans with Tachometer Output What is a DC Axial Fan? DC axial fans are designed to create airflow with a high flow rate and medium pressure. Axial fans have an impeller surrounded by blades which works in a similar way to a propeller. The motor of the fan is integrated into the hub of the impeller to provide a compact fan unit. The impeller draws in air axially in a parallel direction to the revolving motor shaft and forces air out in the same direction. The axial fan is surrounded by a flanged housing with mounting holes allowing it to be mounted inside equipment.
